Loox pricing looks like three numbers on the Shopify App Store: free, $49.99, and $299.99. The number you actually pay sits somewhere between them, and it moves every time your order count crosses a multiple of 300.
That gap is where the surprise comes from. Recent one-star reviews on Loox's listing describe the same pattern. A store signs up for the $49.99 plan, has a good month, and finds a charge several times that size.
Nothing was hidden. The per-order fee is on the listing. It is written as a rate, though, and most owners read it as a price.
So this post does the multiplication for you. You will get the three plans in plain terms, what is locked behind each one, the exact order counts where the bill steps up, and a cost table against Judge.me and Yotpo at 100, 500, 1,000, and 2,000 orders a month. I checked every figure against Loox's listing and help center on October 3, 2026.
The short version: Loox is free until your 500th order. After that it is $49.99 for up to 300 orders a month, plus $50 for each extra 300. Past 1,500 orders a month, Convert costs the same as the flat Unlimited plan, and past 1,800 it costs more.
Loox pricing in 2026, in one table
Loox sells three plans. These are the prices on Loox's Shopify App Store listing, with the quotas from its help center.
| Plan | Monthly price | Order quota | What it adds |
|---|---|---|---|
| Beginner | $0 | 500 orders in total, 2,000 review request emails a month | Review request emails, photo review discounts, 17+ widgets, Google rich snippets, Shop app syndication |
| Convert | $49.99 | 300 orders per cycle, then $50 per extra 300, capped at $999.99 | Video reviews, Google, Meta, and TikTok syndication, AI sorting, summaries, and replies, referrals, integrations and API |
| Unlimited | $299.99 | No order or email quota | Everything in Convert, plus priority support |
Convert and Unlimited both start with a 14-day free trial. Everything is billed in US dollars through Shopify, on a 30-day cycle, with no annual contract.
If you remember Loox at $9.99 and $34.99, those were the earlier Beginner and Scale prices. Scale now exists only as a legacy plan for stores already on it. New stores choose between the three plans above.
Is Loox free? What Beginner actually covers
Yes, with a limit that is easy to misread. Beginner costs nothing, but it covers 500 orders in total, counted from the day your trial ends. It is a running total for the life of the store, and it does not reset each month.
What the free plan includes
Beginner sends review request emails and reminders, offers a discount in exchange for a photo review, and gives you the full widget set. It also adds Google rich snippet schema and syndicates reviews to the Shop app. For a store collecting its first photo reviews, that is a working setup.
There is also an email ceiling of 2,000 review requests a month. Go past it and Loox pauses and queues the rest. Anything still queued after 30 days is marked as missed and never sent.
What it leaves out
Video reviews, Google Shopping syndication, the AI tools, referrals, and integrations such as Klaviyo all start at Convert. So does removing the Loox branding from your widgets. If Shopping ads are part of your plan, the free tier will not feed them star ratings.
The 500-order clock
Loox's quota article says that once you reach 500 orders, the Beginner plan is no longer available and you are prompted to upgrade to Convert. A store doing 100 orders a month gets about five free months. A store doing 500 a month gets one.
That makes Beginner a long trial more than a permanent free plan. If you want free with no clock on it, read when a paid review app is actually worth it before you install anything.
How much does Loox cost on Convert?
Convert is the plan most paying Loox stores are on, and it is the one with the moving price. Loox's Convert plan page sets it at $49.99 a month for your first 300 monthly orders, then $50 for every additional 300.
What counts as an order
The quota counts Shopify orders, not review requests sent and not reviews received. An order from a customer who never opens your email still counts. Loox's docs do not break down which sales channels are included, so if you sell through marketplaces or point of sale and those orders land in Shopify, ask support whether they count before you pick a plan.
When the $50 is charged
The quota article says each additional 300 orders is added to your quota automatically for a $50 usage fee. I read that as a top-up: the fee lands when you pass the limit, so order 301 costs you $50, not order 600. The charges merchants report line up with that reading, in clean $50 steps.
In practice, Convert is a staircase. You pay $49.99 up to 300 orders, $99.99 up to 600, $149.99 up to 900, and so on.
The cap
Usage charges stop at $999.99 a month, which Loox says you reach at 6,000 orders in a cycle. That is a ceiling, and a high one. It is more than three times what Unlimited costs.
The order count where your bill jumps
There are two jumps worth knowing. The first is at order 301, where the bill doubles. The second is the crossover with Unlimited, and that is the one that costs real money if you miss it.
| Orders in a 30-day cycle | Convert bill | Against Unlimited at $299.99 |
|---|---|---|
| Up to 300 | $49.99 | Convert is $250 cheaper |
| 301 to 600 | $99.99 | Convert is $200 cheaper |
| 601 to 900 | $149.99 | Convert is $150 cheaper |
| 901 to 1,200 | $199.99 | Convert is $100 cheaper |
| 1,201 to 1,500 | $249.99 | Convert is $50 cheaper |
| 1,501 to 1,800 | $299.99 | Same price |
| 1,801 to 2,100 | $349.99 | Convert costs $50 more |
| 6,000 and up | $999.99 | Convert costs $700 more |

The crossover is 1,501 orders. From there to 1,800, Convert and Unlimited cost the same, and Unlimited cannot go up. From order 1,801, Convert is the more expensive plan. A store at 2,000 orders a month that stays on Convert pays $50 extra every cycle, about $600 a year, for the same features.
So the rule is simple. If you regularly pass 1,500 orders in a cycle, move to Unlimited. You lose nothing until 1,800 and you remove the risk after it.
What a spike month does
The staircase bites hardest in a month that is not typical. Take a store that averages 1,200 orders and pays $199.99. If Black Friday pushes it to 2,500 orders in one cycle, that cycle bills at $449.99. Unlimited would have been $299.99.
Each block is added automatically as the orders arrive. There is no approval step in between. If November is your big month, look at last year's order count now and decide which plan you want to be on before the cycle starts.
Loox pricing vs Judge.me and Yotpo at 100, 500, 1,000, and 2,000 orders
Loox is easier to judge next to the two apps it gets compared with most. Judge.me charges a flat rate. Yotpo, like Loox, charges by order volume.
| Orders per month | Loox | Judge.me | Yotpo |
|---|---|---|---|
| 100 | $0 for about five months, then $49.99 | $0 or $15 | From $15 (Starter, since the free plan stops at 50 orders) |
| 500 | $99.99 (Convert) | $0 or $15 | $89 (Starter) or $169 (Pro) |
| 1,000 | $199.99 (Convert) | $0 or $15 | $129 (Starter) |
| 2,000 | $299.99 (Unlimited) or $349.99 (Convert) | $0 or $15 | Not published. Starter's listed range ends at 1,000 orders |
The Judge.me column never changes because its App Store listing shows two plans only: Forever Free, and Awesome at $15 a month. Neither one counts orders. The Judge.me pricing breakdown covers what each plan includes.
Yotpo's figures come from its Reviews pricing page, which lists Starter at $89 and Pro at $169 for up to 500 monthly orders, and says Starter runs from $15 up to $129 at 1,000 orders. Above that, you are pricing Pro through Yotpo's own calculator or a sales conversation.
At 500 orders a month, Loox costs about $1,200 a year and Judge.me Awesome costs $180. That $1,020 difference is the real question, and the Loox vs Judge.me comparison goes through what you get for it. If Yotpo is on your shortlist, the Loox vs Yotpo comparison covers that pairing.
The costs that are not on the pricing page
Three things affect what Loox costs you without appearing as a line on the bill.
Widget weight
Loox is built around photo galleries, and galleries are the heaviest thing a review widget can load. In my speed comparison, Loox sat in the middle of the pack: heavier than Judge.me, lighter than Yotpo's full suite. That is a fair trade for a photo-led store and a poor one if most of your reviews are text.
It is worth checking on your own store. Here is how to measure what your review widget costs in speed.
You cannot edit a review
Loox's help center is direct about this: only customers can edit their own reviews. You can publish, hide, or reply. You cannot fix a typo, trim a rambling paragraph, or remove an order number a customer pasted in by mistake.
That is a defensible policy, and it keeps reviews honest. It also means a messy review stays messy unless the customer fixes it. The cost here is your time and a slightly less tidy product page.
Billing mechanics
Loox runs on its own 30-day cycle, which rarely matches your Shopify billing date. Usage fees can land across two Shopify invoices, so no single invoice shows the full monthly figure. Add the Loox lines together before you decide what it costs you.
Uninstalling works the same way as any Shopify app. It stops future cycles, but a charge already generated for your next invoice still goes through. If you plan to leave, do it before a new cycle begins.
Who is Loox still worth it for?
Loox is a good app with a pricing model that punishes growth on the wrong plan. Whether it is worth paying for depends less on the fee than on what photo reviews do for your products.
Loox earns its fee when
You sell something people want to see on a real person or in a real room: clothing, beauty, jewelry, home decor. Photo reviews do measurable work in those categories, and Loox's discount-for-a-photo flow is one of the smoothest ways to collect them. If you also want referrals and Google Shopping syndication in one app, Convert covers both.
A quick test helps. At 500 orders a month, Loox costs about $85 more than Judge.me Awesome. At a $50 average order, that is two to four extra orders a month, depending on your margin.
A photo-led store can clear that. A store selling replacement filters probably cannot.
Stay on a free plan when
You are under roughly $200,000 a year in revenue, your reviews are mostly text, or you are still working out whether reviews move your conversion rate at all. If a free tool fits, I recommend the free tool, and for most first-year Shopify stores that is Judge.me's free plan.
If you are already on Loox and the bill has outgrown the value, the Loox alternatives ranked by what you lose walks through each option and what transfers when you migrate.
Wrapping up
Loox pricing comes down to three facts. The free plan is a 500-order allowance for the life of the store. Convert is a staircase that starts at $49.99 and climbs $50 with every 300 orders. Unlimited is a flat $299.99 that becomes the cheaper plan once you regularly pass 1,500 orders in a cycle.
Most billing surprises come from reading $49.99 as the price when it is the first step. If you know your order count, you know your bill. Open Shopify Analytics, pull your orders for the last three 30-day periods, and find your row in the table above.
Then check two things. First, look at your busiest month, because that is where the staircase costs the most. Second, add up the Loox lines across your last two Shopify invoices and see whether the total matches what you expected.
If the number is fine and photo reviews are earning their keep, stay where you are. If you are a small store paying for order volume you have not reached yet, a flat-rate or free app will do the same job for less. Either answer is a reasonable one. What matters is that you chose it with the real number in front of you.

Reviews Management sets up your review app, runs the request flow on a schedule, and replies to what comes in. I will tell you plainly whether your store needs a paid plan at all.

Frequently asked questions
If you're still unsure after reading these, just send the question.
Does Loox charge per order or per review request? +
Per order. On Convert, the quota counts the Shopify orders in each 30-day cycle, not the review emails sent or the reviews collected. Beginner works differently: it is capped at 500 orders in total and 2,000 review request emails a month.
What happens when I pass 500 orders on the free Loox plan? +
The Beginner plan stops being available and Loox prompts you to upgrade to Convert at $49.99 a month. The 500 is a running total counted from the end of your trial, not a monthly allowance. A store doing 100 orders a month gets about five months out of it.
Is there a cap on Loox usage charges? +
Yes. Loox caps Convert at $999.99 a month, which it says you reach at 6,000 orders in a billing cycle. That cap is more than three times the flat $299.99 Unlimited plan, so treat it as a ceiling and not a budget.
Can I switch from Convert to Unlimited mid-cycle? +
You can change plans from the Loox admin, and there is no annual commitment on either plan. Loox's help articles do not spell out what happens to usage fees already triggered in the current cycle. Ask support before you switch, and aim for the start of a cycle if you can.
Does Loox offer annual billing or a discount? +
Loox pricing is monthly only. It bills in 30-day cycles through Shopify, and its App Store listing shows no annual plan. Convert and Unlimited each come with a 14-day free trial.
Will Loox keep charging me after I uninstall it? +
Uninstalling stops future billing cycles. It does not remove a charge that was already generated for your next Shopify invoice, so one more Loox line can appear after the app is gone. You can see pending app charges in your Shopify admin under Settings, then Billing.
Why is my Loox charge split across two Shopify invoices? +
Loox runs on its own 30-day cycle, which rarely lines up with your Shopify billing date. Usage fees are added as you pass each 300-order block, so they can land on different invoices. Add the Loox lines across both invoices to get the real monthly figure.
Is the old Loox Scale plan still available? +
Not for new signups. Scale is now a legacy plan at $34.99 a month for 300 orders, with $35 for each additional 300, and Loox points new stores to Convert instead. Stores that were already on Scale are still billed under it.
